Service Description

This is a medical for offshore oil and gas workers. It is valid for the British, Norwegian and Dutch sectors. Sometimes employers require this medical to work in other areas, such as Angola, Middle East. It looks particularly for conditions or medication that could give rise to sudden incapacity, that could arise for employees working in remote locations (Offshore Platforms), where advanced medical care might not be available, and immediate evacuation is not always possible. The normal medical comprises a full history and examination, biometric measurements urinalysis, audiometry, vision, and lung function testing. If booked at the time, the medical includes the fitness to train examination (£45 if booked separately) Sometimes also employers ask for additional testing including: VO2 Max testing (Chester step), ECGs, drug and alcohol screening, specialised blood tests, or vaccinations.
